Breaking Dawn News
There are tidbits of all kinds coming in today for an Eclipse update for you. Yesterday David Slade tweeted a picture of the crew in rain. Today Lainey is reporting some major spoilers from the Eclipse set that focus on Riley and also some big news concerning the possible future filming of Breaking Dawn.
Read more below:
You can follow David on twitter here.
Lainey Gossip has some pictures of Xavier Samuel filming as Riley, but they have some spoilers so you can view them here. Not exactly Eclipse news, but Lainey also has some interesting news regarding the possible future filming on Breaking Dawn, and how it could be coming back to the USA:
The first movie was shot in Oregon. Oregon desperately wants Twilight to return for the 4th film and they’ve introduced major tax incentives etc to lure the production back. British Columbia on the other hand is getting pounded by Ontario and Quebec (other Canadian provinces with historically active film industries) as both have also pushed tax incentives forward in a bid to take back British Columbia’s business.
British Columbia however has not answered, has not presented incentives of its own to match the competition. As such, British Columbia has already lost out on several productions and now faces the probability of losing Twilight’s final installment.
The crews that are working on Eclipse also worked on New Moon. They were booked back to back well in advance, schedules held for both films. My sources tell me exclusively that the crew was informed weeks ago that they had the all clear to book new jobs when Eclipse wraps. The studio will NOT hold them for Breaking Dawn. I’m told that as of press time the intention is to begin production on the fourth and final in September. In Portland.
Things are fluid, of course. And it could change. But unless British Columbia changes its film tax structure, it’s more financially feasible for Summit to shoot elsewhere. Say goodbye Vancouver.
Last we have a picture from Malicious Mandy of Bella’s house, you can view more from Mandy here.
New Moon New Movie Footage
Spike TV has issued a press release today revealing some exciting news about their Scream 2009 Awards, which will be taped in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 17th, but will air on Spike TV on Tuesday, October 27th from 10pm-Midnight (ET/PT). Not only will some of the New Moon cast be making an appearance at the awards (no word on who yet), but they will also be premiering brand new footage!
New Moon Soundtrack News
On a good day, film soundtracks enhance the movie going experience. At their best, they transcend it. The latest sonic accompaniment to Twilight's inescapable teen-vampire juggernaut — a swooning conveyance of girl-meets-undead-boy romance, delivered by some of the best established and emerging names in the indie stratosphere — may sway even the most committed Twi-loathers.
After the success of the first installment, music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas (Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy) gets her pick of the alt litter here, with each contributing original, previously unreleased material: From the opening chords of Death Cab for Cutie's dusky guitar rapture ''Meet Me on the Equinox'' to the spooky robot-ennui of Thom Yorke's ''Hearing Damage''
and Grizzly Bear's gorgeous folk-pop pastoral ''Slow Life,'' New Moon rarely falters. A peacocking remix of Muse's shamelessly operatic ''I Belong to You'' becomes a Bowie-esque glam-rock stomper. In its wake, Bon Iver and St. Vincent quietly unfurl ''Rosyln,'' a duet of hushed, almost church-like beauty.
Moon (due in stores Oct. 20) yields several happy revelations from its lower-marquee names: Nordic songstress Lykke Li's nearly a cappella ''Possibility'' is a lovely little Swedish snowflake, and jokey rockers OK Go achieve an impressive sort of Flaming Lips-y quirk-gravitas on the sprawling, cinematic ''Shooting the Moon.'' Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's acoustic campfire lament ''Done All Wrong'' segues seamlessly into the jaunty, Strokes-ian guitar fuzz of Hurricane Bells' ''Monsters.'' Think of New Moon as a sort of survey course in new-now-next rock: a mixtape with teeth. A (for those interested, the Twilight Soundtrack received an A-)
