New Moon shot in Montepulciano instead of Volterra
According to a new magazine article, Volterra will not be used in ‘New Moon’, but instead, Montepulciano. Why, exactly, will it not be shot in Volterra? Read below to find out:

According to Twilighters Italia, “The authoritative voice to emit the news has been that of Piera Detassis, director of Ciak”. Detassis met with producers of Summit, and was able to give the exclusive scoop. Below are his words:
Despite advertisements, anticipations and every kind of proposal from the major and the township, New Moon will be shot in Montepulciano because the locations are “more beautiful for the movie” than Volterra.

Another potential director for Eclipse. His name is Juan Antonio Bayona. So this would make 3 that I am aware of. Drew Barrymore, Juan and Chris's little brother. I wonder who else is on this list.

How to prep for a midnight release
As promised, here are a few more helpful hints on keeping safe while attending a Twilight Series midnight release.

#1 - Safety in numbers
The more the merrier. Waiting in line can be very tiring, so the more people there to talk to and save spots the better. Also there is more back up if a dispute should arise. :)

#2 - Pre-Order/Reserve your copy
There is nothing worse than standing in line and waiting for several hours to have the item you want sell out. Take the time to research what you need to do to ensure the item you are waiting for is there.

#3 - Be prepared
Nothing like going camping and forgetting your sleeping bag. If you are going to be staying out all night, make sure you have everything you need to be comfortable. Chair, blanket, food etc. This will make it much more enjoyable for everyone. Don't forget to check the local weather forecast and plan accordingly. If you are staying out all day, make sure you bring plenty of sun screen and water. No one wants to have heat stroke before the big event.

#4 Scout our your location
Make the time to drive to the location where the event is happening. See how much room in there. Locate restrooms and other areas you can use during the wait. This could give you the extra edge you need to be in the front of the line.

#5 - Find a babysitter and inform the spouse, boyfriend etc.
There are not many times I ask my husband to watch the kids and go off for hours at a time, but Twilight is different. Prep the hubby, give him as much time as possible before the event so they are fully aware they will have the kids. If you don't have a husband or schedules conflict. Spend the extra money and get a babysitter. You will be glad you did.

Those are the most important tips I can give you. Channy and I have stayed out all night waiting to get a ticket to see Stephenie Meyer. Channy and I have stayed in line all day waiting to see Stephenie Meyer. We have also waited in line to get a wristband for Breaking Dawn and then again to get the book. We have walked the walk and have nothing but wonderful memories because of it.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

New Moon News - Casting update

MTV gearing up for New Moon
If there’s one thing “Twilight” fans showed us over and over again last year, it’s that their passion for Stephenie Meyer’s vampire series is every bit as powerful as Edward Cullen’s love for Bella Swan.

Now, as we look forward to a year filled with sequel news, MTV News wants to once again begin it with you folks.

As we kick-start our coverage of the march to “New Moon,” we’ll be interviewing many stars from the film series, some as soon as - well, Wednesday. So, I’d like to give you guys a brand-new place where you can post questions that we’ll once again take straight to the stars.

The comments section of this post is what I’ll be drawing from for future segments like this one, this one and many others. I’ll be checking in constantly for months to come, so feel free to post often. I want your most hardcore “New Moon” questions based on the novel - as well as fun questions about the stars’ food preferences, silliest stories, whatever. As additional people are cast, and shooting details are revealed, feel free to update your thoughts. No question is off limits here.

Please be sure to list your name as you’d like it to appear if your question is selected. If possible, specify which star your question is for. Also, please take the time to read the questions already posted, as you have a much better chance if yours isn’t a duplicate.

Here’s a partial list of people we hope to speak with in the months to come:

Robert Pattinson
Kristen Stewart
Chris Weitz
Stephenie Meyer
Jackson Rathbone
Ashley Greene
Nikki Reed
Kellan Lutz
Peter Facinelli
Anna Kendrick
Michael Welch
Christian Serratos
Billy Burke
Elizabeth Reaser
Edi Gathegi
Rachelle Lefevre
Justin Chon
Solomon Trimble
Melissa Rosenberg

Twilight Midnight Release Parties
On Friday, March 20, 2009, from 10PM until 12 midnight, Summit Home Entertainment will provide TWILIGHT fans across the country with the chance to celebrate the midnight DVD release of the film that has unanimously been described as a “full-blown pop culture phenomenon.” TWILIGHT at MIDNIGHT will allow participating retailers the opportunity to stay open late as fans line up to purchase the DVD of the epic romance at midnight parties. The official TWILIGHT website- www.twilightthemovie.com – will feature a unique store locator from which fans can find out which retailers will be holding midnight parties.

Starting in March, store locator technology will be featured on the film’s website- www.twilightthemovie.com – providing unique access to breaking information about the TWILIGHT at MIDNIGHT events across America. In addition, the site will have updated announcements of special surprises related to actors in the film.

Following the success of the film, which grossed over $300 million worldwide, executives at Summit Entertainment decided to work with retailers to make this special edition DVD something that would not disappoint fans. “We wanted to say thank you to all of those who came out in droves last year and helped make Stephenie Meyer’s characters and story a truly successful movie,” said President of Home Entertainment, Steve Nickerson. While many DVDs street on Tuesdays, the Friday night launch party allows the core fans, many in high school, to celebrate outside of the school week. Adds Nickerson, “What better way to celebrate than a weekend party with your fellow Twilight fans.”

New Moon and Eclipse News
The casting director for New Moon, Joseph Middleton, has announced that “We are finished with the casting process”. No details on the cast list has been released by Summit Entertainment.

The rumor mill has been on fire with talk of Madonna, Vanessa Hudgens, AnnaLynne McCord, and Dakota Fanning being hired for a coveted spot on the New Moon cast, however there has been no official confirmation of any of them being hired.

There have been rumors circulating that Drew Barrymore will be directing the third installment of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Series. These rumors are false. Due to the New Moon post-production schedule for director Chris Weitz, his brother and co-owner of “Depth of Field Productions” - Paul Weitz - will be directing Eclipse.
